Medical Massage Neck Pain Car Accident Massage

Therapeutic or "Medical" Massage is recognized as an effective treatment for soft tissue injury after an auto accident or on the job injury. Under a prescription and supervision from your Medical Doctor or Chiropractor a trained massage therapist will help your body heal. Frequently without the need for pharmaceuticals and sometimes even avoiding surgeries. Insurance companies are happy to work with trained massage therapists because study after study shows people who get massage after an accident recover more quickly with lower usage of prescription narcotics than those who do not use massage therapy.

With advanced training in soft tissue injuries we are invested in helping you restore your health through treatment and education about preventative self-care techniques. We work with clients who are covered by their insurance (auto insurance, workers' compensation, and some major medical) and self-pay as well. It is the goal of RelaxPDX to provide you with the best care possible and give you back control of your health and well-being. Medical massage is a manual technique that is used in a rehabilitative therapy environment.

Therapeutic Medical Massage is not a general massage treatment like our Signature or Sports Massage; rather, it is a therapy applied to a specific problem area or pathology. While medical massage uses many of the same techniques as Swedish massage, but we generally them as a preliminary softening of tissue in order to get to the deep muscle tissue, complex joint systems, and inelastic connective tissue. Medical massage combines several manual therapies, including Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point, Neuromuscular Massage, Craniosacral therapy, and manual lymph drainage. Many of our Medical Massage clients are referred to us by doctors, chiropractors, physical therapists, occupational therapists, and other medical professionals.

When you come in for your 1st appointment be sure to have your claim information as well as your prescription for massage therapy.
